OLUREMI

Oluremi began sharing her artistic talents with the world before she could even read. At three years old, she was a featured guest soloist at local churches and performed in Christmas and Easter programs at her home church. She began formal training to cultivate her natural talents at the Alabama School of Fine Arts, where she received her high school diploma. After earning her BA in the Humanities Division of Drama from the University of Southern California, Oluremi pursued a professional career as a performer, giving life to the creations of others.

It wasn’t long before she felt the call to express herself through the pen to teach, educate, and inspire through her own stories that might also entertain. A rich and seasoned life has molded Oluremi into a self-styled philosopher and independent researcher.

Her commitment to harmony, justice, humanity, and peace (in that order) was the catalyst for her current audio-visual project, Red White & Blue: A History of Political Alliances in the USA, an in-depth study of not just the nation’s political parties, but a deep dive into the motivations for political alliances generally. The Tel Stell Society awarded her its inaugural Integrative Arts fellowship to conduct foundational research and compose the initial drafts of the first episodal scripts for the project.

Oluremi is grateful to have been chosen as a Willa Foundation fellow and humbled by the opportunity to benefit from all its resources, especially the expertise and accomplishments of producer, director, and mentor Loria King.
